From the Hood to the Hollow
From the Hood to the Hollow
However you say it, that is where I lived for two years. Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the wonderful people in the Great Kentucky Louisville Mission. While I was there I had countless experiences with people all over Kentucky. I witnessed amazing transformations, triumphs, successes, and many many miracles. I also was subject to heartache, sorrow, upsets, and death. Please follow along as I re-live the last two years of my life, the best years of my life so far.
This is titled, "From the Hood to the Hollow" for a reason. While serving in Kentucky I lived in big cities like Louisville or Lexington and I also served in the two poorest counties in America (Lee and Owsley County). Because of the wide spectrum of living circumstances I have numerous stories that range from the Hood of Louisville to the Hollows (Hollers) of Eastern Kentucky deep in the Appalachian mountains.
This blog is not about a place. It is not about Louisville, Kentucky. This is about people. When I think back on these past two years, all I see is faces. Yes, I do remember certain events happening, but they always involve a face. A face of someone who impacted my life. Who changed me into who I am today. Therefore, this is attributed to them. All of those who, performed the miracles, celebrated the triumphs, initiated the heartache, became family, and saved me from who I was before. The most important person this blog revolves around is Jesus Christ, He who made this all possible and he who changes that heartache in to joy, the trials into growth. He who heals the wounded soul.
